Peer Review Process

The decision to publish a paper is based on editorial assessment and peer review.

Editorial Assessment

WVSU Research Journal aim to provide a rapid publication process through an initial assessment conducted by the editorial team members. Initially, submitted papers are assessed by the members of the editorial team. The purpose is to decide whether to send a paper for peer review or reject it. The papers are checked for scope, compliance with guidelines, and use language. The rejection is based on the novelty or the relevancy with the priority scope of this journal. A paper may be returned to the author for revisions to help editors in deciding whether or not to send it out for review by the national or international peer reviewers. Authors may expect the decision from this stage of the initial editorial review process within 4-8 weeks after submission.

Review Process

After passing the initial assessment of the editors, the papers will be sent to peer-reviewers. The peer-review process involved at least two reviewers for each manuscript selected based on their expertise. All reviewing process is done by the double-blind review, which means the authors and peer-reviewers do not know each other’s identity. The reviewers are requested to complete the review within 4-8 weeks in each reviewing round, although turn-around time may vary. The reviewers’ comments will be sent to the author for response or make the necessary changes or revisions.

Decision-Making Process

The WVSU Research Journal Editorial Board reserves the right to accept or reject all articles. The final decision to publish is made by the editorial committee considering the recommendations of the national or international advisory board or peer reviewers. Two reviewer's acceptance recommendations are required for the decision to accept the paper for publication. If there is a difference in the two reviewers’ recommendations, the editor may seek a third reviewer's consideration. The decision of the Editorial Board is Final.
