Abstract
Considering the Commission on Higher Education’s order to fully implement a hybrid learning setup starting February 2023, this study investigated the relationship between university students’ background characteristics, academic procrastination, mental well-being, and psychological distress during the setup. An online survey was administered to 100 university students enrolled in hybrid learning within Metro Manila, Philippines. The results revealed a moderate level of academic procrastination among university students. Field of interest influenced academic procrastination when studying for an exam, revealing low scores from the Humanities and Social Sciences university students. Findings implied that academic procrastination is positively correlated with psychological distress while negatively correlated with mental well-being. Student procrastinators reported lower mental well-being and higher psychological distress.
