Author Guidelines

  1. The manuscript to be submitted in general maybe organized in the following order: a) Title Page, b) Abstract, c) Main Text (Introduction, Methods (Research design, Participants and sampling, Instrument, Data collection, Data analysis), Results, Discussion, Conclusions), d) Reference List, and e) Acknowledgment (if there is any financial support or assistance).
  2. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published or submitted elsewhere. Authors may also submit papers electronically through e-mail: researchjournal@wvsu.edu.ph.
  3. The title page of the paper should contain: a) Full title of the paper, b) Full name/s of the author/s, and address/es of institutions where the work was done, c) Name, e-mail address of the author to whom all correspondence and proofs should be sent d) A running head of not more than 50 characters including spaces and punctuations.
  4. Abstract should not be more than 250 words. Keywords must also be provided and not more than five words in alphabetical order.
  5. Spelling should conform to the Webster International Dictionary.
  6. Units of measurement, symbols and abbreviations must be written in metric units.
  7. Drawing, graphs, tables and illustrations should be presented as follows: a) Computer- generated or conforming to specific printing standards, b) Line diagrams can be computer-generated, and c) Unpublished reports, ongoing researches, manuscripts in progress should not be cited.
  8. A paper must not exceed 6000 words, single-spaced with no additional spaces between paragraphs) on one side of the A4 bond paper (8.69” x 11.69”) including illustrations, notes and references.
  9. Lettering in serif typeface (Times New Roman) and 12-point font is preferable. 
  10. All pages should be numbered in Arabic numerals. Tables, diagrams, etc. should be properly numbered, labeled and included in the numbering of the pages of the text.
  11. The American Psychological Association (APA), latest edition, style of notation and reference listing, will be used for all articles.
  12. Only works cited in the paper should be listed as references and arranged in alphabetical order. Authors are urged to check references with special care that all references in the text appear at the end of the paper and vice versa, and that the names and dates are consistent as no editorial responsibility can be taken for their accuracy.
  13. Acceptance and rejection of the manuscripts. Submitted manuscripts shall undergo a double-blind review process. The WVSU Journal of Research Editorial Board and designated reviewers will formally scrutinize each and every submission for relevance, accuracy and proof of thought. Peer reviewers will also read each manuscript and at least two of shall recommend the paper for publication. Reviewers’ comments will be sent to you for your response and any changes you want to make. Once the editors have the amended copy or changes and the manuscript will be prepared for publication. The revised paper should be submitted in softcopy to facilitate publication.
  14. Authors will be asked to sign a Copyright Transfer form when the manuscript is accepted for publication. No article will be published without the author’s prior written consent.
  15. The WVSU Research Journal Editorial Board reserves the right to accept or reject all articles. The decision of the Editorial Board is Final.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements (APA) outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The text is not more than 6000 words; single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Privacy Statement for WVSU Research Journal

WVSU Research Journal is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Statement explains what information we collect from users and how we use that information.

We store user data securely on our servers and take reasonable steps to protect user data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. We use industry-standard security measures, such as encryption and firewalls, to protect user data.

We may share user data with third-party service providers who assist us in the publication process, such as hosting providers, editorial management software providers, and payment processors. We do not sell or rent user data to third parties.

Users have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal data. Users may also object to the processing of their personal data, request restrictions on the processing of their data, or withdraw their consent for the processing of their data.

  1. Changes to the Privacy Statement

We may update this Privacy Statement from time to time to reflect changes in our information practices. We will post a prominent notice on our website to inform users of any material changes to this Privacy Statement.
